I've recently received an offer from Akuna Capital, and was wondering if people had any opinions on this prop shop? Is this a reputable shop, have there been horror stories from this shop, etc? Compensation base salary is on-par with many of the top firms such as OptiverJane Streetetcbut having not much information about this field as I don't have a Fin-Eng background, am worried if this is a good company. Also, do companies like these expect new, inexperienced hires to turn a profit for them in a very short amount of time, or is there still a good amount of leash?
Not sure how much I can bank on the bonus though, don't have much information online as to whether there is significant bonus.
I interned there previously and loved it. This firm is definitely different in terms of rewarding talent and not getting bogged down by typical corporate bs. Akuna more than any of the other firms out there, takes the time to actually train their new hires. I saw a few JTs start while I was there and they had the same training we did as interns but over a longer period of time.

Akuna Capital Math Test? (And Interview Process)
Previous head of trading of Optiver founded Akuna. Strong in index options but not sure on other products. I also heard that they are using their profit pool to hire good devs so the actual bonus right now is not that big, but someone please confirm this. Not sure if I am late to the post. I would take it.
Akuna is one of the better shops in Chicago.
Overall, you might be there for 20 years, or two years. Who knows? But any success at Akuna should create opportunities down the road. So despite having only been around for 5 years, they have a solid reputation amongst trading shops in Chicago already? How would they compare to some of the older firms like Optiver and SIG? Trader role, your insight would be of great help. Also, let me know where can I prepare for Jr. Took the phone interview last year - definitely math heavy. After that it was just math questions - there are two sections. The first one is a chain of probability questions - all of my questions were from this book called from the street or something.
I have the pdf if you want it. Last section was mostly mental maths again - stuff like 2x2 multiplication, sq root of 3 digit numbers, some calculation. My main advice would be to keep a calm mind while answering even though you would feel as if you need to answer very quickly.
Just a recap of the interview - very similar for what ffffml stated, started of with few basic behavioural why trading, why akuna etc. Then dove straight into probability, variation of expected value of dice more than 6 sideshow much would you pay, how much would you pay if you could reroll. Then a bunch of brainteasers and other math questions, heard on the street would definitely be a good starting point. Then chat with the trader after all the questions. Surprisingly didn't get a final round, all in all good experience.

Throttle if the lengths of the sliding windows don't meet the constraints. O N time, O 1 space if you use a index to represent the window otherwise O N if you use an array. Our goal is to do every query in constant time. Since we can reorder the string all we really care about are the letters in each interval.
We can do a "prefix sum" with the string but instead use a hash table that stores the counts for each character. We can retrieve the count of letters on the interval [i, j] with preprocessed[j] - preprocessed[i] might have a one off error but you get the ideaand this will happen in constant time because there are only 26 possible keys.
Once we have a count of characters in the interval we just need to determine the number of substitutions needed. We can pair off any two equal characters without any substitutions, and we can fix two unequal characters by substituting one to the other. Any remaining character can just go in the middle. So the minimal number of substitutions we need on one interval will be:.
O N space, O N time to preprocess with "prefix sums", O 1 query. Q1 is a confusing problem statement. The cases wouldn't pass because the "note" does not seem to be correct. Here is a solution that works only for half the cases. My simple python solution for question 2!!

Our Story. Work With us. Meet The Team. Life at akuna.I've applied for a junior trader position with this firm, and so they've sent me an email with directions to take an online mental math test. Does anybody know what the Akuna test is like, specifically? Can't seem to find too much information about it online. All I know is that there is a 22 minute time limit, and I've got 2 weeks to take it.
To begin preparing for your interview, JobTestPrep has everything you need to know for Mathematical Reasoning Test interviews, including a myriad of questions with thoroughly explained answers.
I'have taken it. First park is simple mental math with no fractions. The second part is sequences of letter and numbers. I breezed through the math test and decided I didn't need to prepare for sequences. God I was wrong. Thanks a lot. This is what I've heard as well, so I'm doing a lot of sequence prep right now on TraderTest.
So you didn't find the mental math too terrible? It sounds so far like it's easier than the Optiver test, which I've taken and didn't pass. Try it for 0 bananas here. It's unlimited number of questions under 5 or so minutes, if memory serves me right exact time is mentioned in the email. Math part was easy. I have an Optiver test to do too. But I they did not mention the deadline for submission. I have an exam this week so I am wondering if they will wait one week. Their recruiters didn't reply to my email so far.
Hi Belonik. Did you had the Optiver test? If yes please let me know about how difficult it is and some questions that you remember.

It is pretty difficult. Optiver is a great place so you have to be competitive. You can find the example questions in this thread above. The email which I received mentioned that the test was 22 minutes long. Anyone know what this test consists of?
